CageWarriors Northwest MMA will hold its inaugural show on Saturday, Nov. 19 at the Clark County Fairgrounds in Vancouver, Wash.

Presented by Northwest Fight Promotions, the professional/amateur mixed marital arts event will feature approximately 10 bouts. Headlining the card will be a main event between John Simon, the No. 2 ranked pro lightweight in the Pacific Northwest, and veteran Jarel Askew, and an undercard contest between undefeated light heavyweights Adland Benson and Aireon Tavarres.

Tickets for the all-ages show are available at tickets.northwestfightpromotions.com/tickets. Preliminary bouts start at 6 p.m. Doors open at 5 p.m.

“We are very excited to kick off our new promotion, CageWarriors Northwest, and couldn’t think of a better place for our debut than at the Clark County Fairgrounds,” said Northwest Fight Promotions owner George Dodd. “Southwest Washington and Portland, Oregon have always been a hotbed for mixed martial arts.

Prior to starting Northwest Fight Promotion, Dodd was the General Manager of Brian Halquist Productions that promoted CageSport MMA, the longest-running all-professional mixed martial arts organization in the Pacific Northwest. Under Dodd’s direction, held its 63rd show at the Seven Feathers Casino and Resort in Canyonville, Ore. in May.

The promotion has a long history of producing talent who have gone on to fight for UFC and Bellator, including former UFC Women’s world champions Julianna Pena and Miesha Tate, Bryan Caraway, Sam Sicilia, Michael Chiesa, Terrance McKinney, Anthony Hamilton, Chase Hooper, Tristan Connelly and Julian Erosa, among others. All have fought on previous CageSport shows before moving on to UFC superstardom.

John Simon is no stranger to what it takes to make it to the big stage as he trains with his cousin, Ricky Simon, a UFC veteran who fights out of Vancouver, Wash. Ricky Simon notched his fifth consecutive UFC victory on July 16, defeating Jack Shore on the undercard of UFC on ABC: Ortega vs. Rodriguez.

John Simon will look to take the next step towards joining his cousin in the UFC when he faces Jarel Askew, who enters the showdown with an impressive resume, having won 12 career fights.

Both Benson and Tavarres will look to keep their unblemished records in tact when they square off against each other. Benson won his pro debut at CageSport 62, defeating Nick Mills by Guillotine Choke. Two weeks later he was back inside the cage, picking up career win No. 2 by knocking out Fernando Alvarado at CageSport 63 on May 7.

Also appearing at CageSport 63 was Tavarres, who scored his first career win by submitting Amedeo Conta.

Benson and Tavarres, however, won’t be the only fighters looking to stay undefeated as the undercard will also feature 1-0 Quenton Hansen facing Gabriel Daffron at 136.

Additional pro bouts include Roger Kremer vs. Brandon Cromartie, Chris Varner and Alvin Welch (136) and Keaneo Moyer and Isreal Gonzalez (126).
